The blend inspiration was Melissa — the youngest of the Meerapfel siblings, Jeremiah and Joshua’s sister. When she came into the business, she didn’t smoke cigars. Jeremiah wanted to blend something for her that was incredibly pleasing and pleasant to smoke — something accessible, sweet and creamy, for somebody who’s not a heavy cigar smoker.
When the cigars came back after the blend development, Jeremiah found himself lighting one up every once in a while — something that almost never happens.
The brand embodies a super approachable, super accessible experience: pink, fluffy, cotton candy, a fun experience, like going to the amusement park. Super romantic, refined, subtle yet opulent.
Behind the Scenes reflects where the family has been positioned in the industry over the past centuries: behind the curtains, very discreet, quiet but powerful.
The inspiration of the brand world is a reminiscence of the inner square courtyard of an old Roman house. What went on in those courtyards was discreet, within the confinement of the house, away from the public eye. This is why the Roman numerals and the square design became central elements.
The cigar is box-pressed, keeping the square idea of the inner courtyard of the Roman house.
This symbolic architectural choice reinforces the brand’s quiet, elegant, discrete tone.
Innovation was drawn from the European luxury perfume industry, with an extremely detailed and intricate way of working the packaging — a different way to present the cigars. Cross-luxury-industry packaging, with a level of detail on the embossing that reflects Roman history, refined society, elegance, upscale romanticism, subtle yet opulent.
The bands are an honest reflection of the actual box — the box mirrored onto the band.
